A depender do seu estado de espírito neste momento, “La Maison en Petit Cubes” pode te levar às lágrimas em apenas alguns minutos.

O curta japonês tem como personagem principal um senhor solitário, que vive num pequeno quarto ameaçado pelo nível do mar, que não para de subir há algum tempo submergira toda uma cidade.

A recapitulação de toda uma vida é feita de maneira ímpar pelo diretor Kunio Katô, que tem nesta uma obra triste, mas de imensa beleza. A trilha sonora é outro primor.

Não foi à toa que o curta ganhou o Oscar de melhor curta de animação em 2008.
